Workouts On Business Trips

Workouts on business trips can be few and far between.  Exhaustion after being in airports all day is not very conducive to going back to the hotel and getting a workout in, but that is exactly what you need.  I have learned this the hard way, but a good short workout after a long day of business travel will actually make you feel much better.  The way I do, you can do it in your room, even with your pants still on, easy and convenient.

Taking the time to workout while on biz travel is normally the last thing on peoples minds and for good reason.  Some days of travel can be so exhausting the when you do finally check into your hotel you just want to collapse onto your bed.

Also being on business travel makes a good excuse to not workout or skip any regular routine you have.  But when you are stressed and tired a good workout is exactly what you need.  Once you do this a couple of times you will feel so much better you will want to workout more often.

I think I heard if first from Tony Robbins.  He said the quickest way out of stress is to work out, and I have found this to be very true.  A good quick workout can get rid of a lot of nervous energy.

Now for my workout:

All you need for your business trip workout is an exercise band which can be bought anywhere like Target, Walmart, etc, for 5 to 10 bucks.

What I do in my hotel room is a circuit training routine that exercises all major muscle groups.  Circuit training is actually better than cardio and will burn more calories in a quicker amount of time and will help us men keep the muscle packed on.

I repeat this routine 3 to 4 times in order with a 2-4 minute break after the back rows. (When you buy an exercise band normally there is also an exercise routine pamphlet inside.

1.  Bodyweight squats (10-15)

2.  Calf raises (15-20)

3. Pushups (8-15)

4. Situps (25)

5. Shoulder presses (8-15)

6. Back rows (20)

7. Curls (10-15)

8.  Tricep extensions or chair dips (8-15)

When you first start out you can’t do many repetitions at all, but start somewhere and build from there.

Your reward is when you get back home and your spouse sees that you are getting in great shape!
