Save Time With A Packing List

When leaving for a business trip do you have everything you need to pack on a list?  I know this might sound kind of anal but having a packing list really helps me to pack faster, not forget everything, and be less stressed out.  Here is how I cam up with my business travel packing list.

First off, I must say, I like to be organized to packing according to a list makes me happy.  But the biggest advantage is not having to worry if I forgot something.

I first came across the idea for a packing list from some time management guru, who’s name I don’t recall right now.  Anyways the packing list is basically a list of all the clothes, documents, and things you need to do to get ready for the trip.

Clothes

All the clothes I need for a 3 day business trip is on that list, for longer trips I have to modify it.  But I just get the list and start packing all my clothes, this way I don’t forget to pack underwear or a belt.

Electronics

With all the gadgets we carry these days it can be easy to forget rechargeable cords etc.  On my packing list I have reminders to recharge things like my ipod, Nintendo ds, and other travel gadgets.  I also have reminders for memory sticks and other computer paraphernalia.

Weather and Travel Documents

Also on the list I have reminders to check the weather of where I’m going and the weather of the connecting airports to determine how warm I need to dress and what flying and driving conditions will be.

I also have reminders to get all the need documents printed out and in order.

Excel Document

I just make a list in an excel spreadsheet, but a word document would work as well.

Initially it takes time to come up with a packing list, but it will save you time in the end, you will not forget anything, and you will have much less stress preparing for business travel.
