10 Hints For Planning Business Travel

Traveling for vacation and be hard enough, but when you are traveling for business you also have to get work done.  Planning business travel properly is vital in order for you to function at your highest possible levels.  Not only do you have to maintain your energy level, you also have to eat properly, and pack efficiently.  Here are 10 hints for planning business travel.

1.  Family Time. Before leaving for a long business trip make sure you schedule some family time.  This is especially important if you have small children, this way they feel like they have been given more attention.

2.  Plan a workout. As hard as it is to travel, you should find some time to at least get a short workout in.  It could be nothing more than some sit-ups, push-ups, squats, and some stretches.

3. Visualize your schedule. Take a few minutes and visualize your travel as successful and that everything you planned will happen exactly that way.  This really helps your mental mindset.

4.  Plan out everyday in advance. Before you leave for your trip take some time to plan out what you will be doing each day.  This will really help take some stress off of you when you are rushed and or tired.

5.  Eat properly. This is hard and sometimes seems impossible to do on the road, but you must try and eat healthy.  Not only will it keep your energy levels higher, you will feel better mentally about yourself.

6.  Pack only what you need. Many of us like to pack for all possible eventualities, most of which never happen.  Slim down what you will take with you and your back will thank you.

7.  Confirm all travel plans before leaving. This is a given, but many people simple don’t take the time to make sure the plane is on time, the rental car is booked, and the hotel is scheduled.

8.  Charge all electronics before the trip. It sucks to have your cell phone die on you when you are in the middle of the airport trying to report back to your boss, so don’t let it happen.

9.  Email yourself important documents. If you lose your memory stick you can still get them through attachments you emailed yourself.

10.  Reward yourself. Plan something fun to do when you get back into town.  This is a great way to recharge your batteries.
