Business Travel Advice: Packing One Bag

There are many websites offering business travel advice.  Mine will be a little more specific.  In this blog I’ll briefly talk about traveling with only one bag.  It can be done, but I rarely do it.  I have been trying to carry less and less with me.  Here are some tips to get yourself down to one bag.

First of all there are many benefits to only traveling with one bag.  When only carrying one bag,  you can carry it onto the plane and don’t have to check it.  By not checking the bag, not only do you eliminate the chance the airline will lose your bag but you also save the $15 bag handling fees most airlines like Delta and Northwest still charge.

Another big benefit of not having to check your bags is security.  You don’t have to worry about airline baggage handlers going through your bags and taking things, which happens alot.  It has happened to my wife!

For business travel I currently travel with one carry on, and one checked bag.  I like to pack an extra pair of everything just in case, but this of course adds a lot more stuff to carry.

Over the next few months of business travel I hope to widdle my way down to carrying just one bag.

One way to help me do this is to revise my packing list.  In the past my packing list included all the extras that I like to take with me, but now I’ll go through it and remove any travel items to help me move lighter.

I’ll update you about my progress in future blog posts.  In the meantime, please keep reading my blog.
